For the first of what might be many times this season, the Detroit Lions announced Wednesday that their game this week is a sellout. Detroit's home opener pits the 1-0 Lions against a Chiefs team coming off a 41-7 loss to the Bills.
Lions president Tom Lewand announced the sellout.
"(Ticket sales have) been very steady throughout the whole year, even with the offseason that we had, the lockout. We've had a lot of momentum — clearly the game on Sunday helped," Lewand said. "The amount of enthusiasm that the fans have shown at the box office has been remarkable."
The Lions' next home game is the Week 5 Monday nighter against the Bears, which has been sold out for weeks. Detroit also plays at home in Weeks 6 and 7, against the 49ers and Falcons, respectively.
