LIONS 101

Jim Schwartz has only been with the Detroit Lions three seasons as the head coach, and already everyone can see a difference. For one thing the Lions actually made it to the playoffs last season (how long has it been since that happened?)  He has made a tremendous difference and will continue to make a difference this season.

The Detroit Lions went this past season with a 10-6 record, much better than their 0-16 record a few years back. The Lions made it to the first round of the playoffs, but unfortunately ended up losing in the first round to the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Wild Card Game.

But that was last season. And was a heck of an improvement. When Lions fans would say “this is going to be our season!” everyone else would look at them like they were crazy. The Lions were always a losing team and nothing short of a miracle would change that.

Well here came that miracle: head coach Jim Schwartz. He has a no-nonsense attitude and the perfect ideas for lines and how plays should be run. 

So how far will the Lions go next season, you ask? Well if this past season was any indicator – really far. Under Schwartz’s leadership this season the Lions have gone further than they have ever gone in years. So here’s a prediction, even though the Lions may not win the Superbowl next year, they will get there and will take part in it.
