Emotional Stephen Tulloch retires with the Detroit Lions

ALLEN PARK — Stephen Tulloch had tears in his eyes as he stood up to reflect on his time as a Detroit Lion.

It was only five seasons in an 11-year career. One was shortened to just three games by injury.

But by now, it’s an come and gone.

“Unreal,” the former middle linebacker said. “Eleven years in the National Football League, I could never dream of it. I could never actually dream of the opportunity to get to the NFL.

“I can’t thank you enough for this moment, for letting me walk away from the game with pride and dignity.”
